Why it's important to maintain an online brand

Maintaining an online brand is important for many reasons. I think the best one is so you don't look boring.

Yes, it's important not to use the F--- word if you're going to be a school teacher or a banker or any other boring job. None of those ever sounded appealing to me, and neither has being perfectly professional and pristine on the internet.

I'm planning on becoming a game critic, and while maintaining an online brand is important for me, it differs how it is important for others. My main job while online will be making myself distinct from the thousands of others who are fighting for the same job as me. And, the internet is the only real place to have a brand now-a-days. Everything is online.

 You would have to be dumb not to try and make a place for yourself on the internet if you have a career that will someday depend on it.
