Nintendo Direct

It's happening again (possibly even right now, I'm not really sure) Nintendo is holding another Nintendo Direct conference to release Wii U and 3DS news.

What I'm most interested is the Wii U news this round. Nintendo has yet to convince me that I should buy a Wii U, at least, not until they release Super Smash Bros. on it. And that is exactly what they need to do today: show off games that are only possibly on the Wii U -- games that people actually want.

Where is Custom Robo? Where is Kid Icarus? Where is Fire Emblem?

Sidenote: I'm loving Fire Emblem Awakening on 3DS. It's the reason I bought the system, more or less, and it feels good to finally feel like I haven't wasted tons of money.

What Nintendo really needs to do today is show the value of the Wii U, but in the end, that's not going to matter. The only people who will see the results of today are the hardcore gaming crowd. This is not the crowd Nintendo needs. They need to up their advertising game and sell this system to casual consumers. That is what made the Wii popular, and it is the only thing that will save the Wii U.

It's clear that they have had no idea how to market this thing thus far, and with PS4 and Xbox 720 on the way, their situation is becoming ever more dire.
